Rockport State Park

The last camping trip of the year.

With the drought this year all the lakes are at a record low.

We have stayed at this campground many times, but can’t seem to remember it, so I’m documenting it this time 🙂 We stayed in the Juniper Campground. This is the only campground with electricity.

We stayed in campsite 23. Every time we come here, we stay at this site.

We stay here because this site has a view of the water. Extremely windy, but a nice view. We usually have to get here early because of the great site.

This year…. this is the walk from the site to the water.

Eli didn’t waste anytime. He grabbed his pail and off he went to play in the water.

See how low the lake is?

I went running every morning.

This is who I saw every morning. It was wonderful.

We drove to the Outpost to get some worms.

Yup! Nasty!

Paul and Eli went fishing. I stayed back at camp where it was warm. It was FREEZING.

We walked across the bottom of the lake bed.

The receding lake showed the foundations of some old houses. Eli really wanted to take our picture.

Ha!

Not sure what’s up with Eli’s smile lately. I have to tickle him to get a nice smile 🙂

It was a fun little get a way for a few days. Extremely cold though. We had the heater on night and day. But, we were also the only ones in the campground so that made it really fun.

This is Eli’s video he made of Rockport 🙂
