Hike in Butterfield Canyon

I started out the day with a run in the wind and rain with the ducks.

When I got home we decided to go for a short hike. We packed lunch and off we went. Not sure the name of the trail we went on, if it even has a name. We went on the one to the right and then to the right, ha!

It was a wet day. Utah hasn’t seen rain in a while and we loved every rain drop that fell.

This is the first time I have been on this trail. The overlooks were amazing.

We saw a few wild flowers.

New acorns on the oak trees.

This was a perfect day for a little boy to play in EVERY puddle.

This little boy had fun in the rain as well. 🙂

I didn’t have my GPS with us, but I think we went up about a mile. We came to an uphill stream and decided this was a great place to turn around. Crazy enough we were going down hill the majority of the hike, so we had to go home up hill!

Fall leaves are trying to come out.

The clouds started to clear.

By the end of our little 2 mile hike, the sun was trying to come out. This was a perfect hike for a little six year old. Enough rain to keep it cool, short to keep his attention, and enough rocks to climb on. This was a good one.
